Day 3

Howdy everyone! Well Day 3 has been/was quite exciting and awesome! So I woke up at a time (I can't be bothered to remember), showered and took care of my teeth, then got Ben up and had some cereal. After that we pulled the bikes off the trailer and got all suited up then took off down the road...only to come back after a few minutes because Ben (and license) forgot his wallet. But it was okay since we got to plan what we were actually going to do. So we plotted our course, switched motorcycles, and took off! For the first part of it we took a less winding route which took us through the Black Hills, with lots of rocky outcroppings and trees. The road also took us past Mount Rushmore, which was pretty sweet, then back in through the winding roads into Custer State Park and up to the Needles Highway. This was some sweet riding, since the roads wound all through the hills. But, since a picture is worth a thousand words I think I'll just post them instead of boring you with details and descriptions. In short, it was loads of fun riding the motorcycles through the hills!

After that we came back to camp in time to escape the rain which started pouring pretty readily. I sat in the tent reading while Ben read in the car and did a little hiking. He came back to avoid the rain then went out again, and again later we both went out to this huge rock he had climbed earlier. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it was large, probably around 200 ft high. Once at the top there was little that could block out the view of the surrounding hills. There was one big hill that was probably higher than us, though not by much. I'll post some pictures of that too, as well as a video or two (if it doesn't stall on me again).

That Rock in the middle is the one that we climbed. Note the size of the car in comparison, as well as the little dude in the red who is about halfway from the top.

And in this one you can see the little bit land down in the left corner. We were HIGH UP! Edit: Actually those might be clouds...so we were above clouds...yeah.

After that it was a couple of episodes of King of the Hill and then bed.

Edit: Here is a pan view from the rock we climbed. Notice the lack of anything higher than us!
